Hi hi.....
We just sent in our application to Mississauga on 31st August and as per the mail tracking number they received it on 3rd september. When can we get to hear from them that the application has been received. Is there a way to track the application? Or do we just wait to hear from them? thanks. Just worried!!!!!

You might receive an email saying that your application has been received - that's called an AOR (Acknowledgement Of Receipt). Or you may not hear anything until they inform you about the decision made about the sponsorship application - that's SA (Sponsorship Approval) if it's successful. If you applied outland, SA will come sooner than October 3rd. If you applied inland, it will take a while

Thanks for replying my post. Hope everything works out fine! Thanks again

So for outland the SA should take less then a month? ... this week will be a month since our application was delivered and I have not gotten an AOR or SA

The estimated time for the assessment of sponsor is 26 days http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp
It can be a few days less, or a few days more, but, if you have all the documents, it shouldn't take much longer

I've looked at the page a million times it seems. Does the 26 days mean 'working days' or just days. If its 'working days' then yesterday was the 26th day since the tracking shows they received it. If it is just days... them we are well past a month since that. ... I'm so nervous what if I sent all that to the wrong address or something, how will I know? and how can I fix it if I did?
I'm in the same situation. Package tracking shows the time and date when it was signed for but nothing shows up online and I've heard nothing.
@katester - I wouldn't worry. It's unlikely that you sent it to the wrong address and even if you did it would still find its way to the right place. it's easy to start second-guessing ourselves. Immigration is a horrible, stressful, worrying process even when everything goes really well. We filled the forms, checked everything, sent it off, and now its in their hands and we just need to wait and (try) to be patient. I'm not very good at that patience stuff! LOL
I guess we both just wait and see what happens.
Yea it is stressful. I read in a thread that people who sent their application after ours received their AOR. It's been two weeks since our application was received by them. Hoping to hear from them end of next week or early the week after. Anyway please do post in here if you receive your AOR and SA in the coming days. Thanks
lol! I'm not very good at the patients thing either.... In person sure I'll give you all the time in the world as long as I see that so progress is being made..... but here I sit with out a clue if they even actually have my application with all my personal documents along with our money! I wish I would have at least gotten confirmation that they have it, then i will be able to relax about it a little.
I doubt I sent it to the wrong place, It was the address on the website for Mississauga. But until I get some sort of confirmation I can only hope for the best a prepare for the worst.... I'm already mentally preparing myself for having to re-do allllllllllll the countless hours of paperwork!

I was so paranoid about that happening that before the application went to the courier I had the entire thing scanned. However, with so many of us waiting to hear that they have our papers I think the most likely scenario is that they are just not bothering to enter the details. While I believe that, it doesn't stop me from checking online every day though! LOL
Is AOR basically a letter saying that they have received your application and that its like PROOF you have applied for PR?
I have not received an AOR but it stands for Acknowledgment Of Receipt. Which yes, basically is only showing that they have your app, nothing more nothing less...... However people at my husband's Canadian Address said that he got something in the Mail from Citizenship and Immigration...so here is hoping its good news about our app. I can't live there with him until I can work though, just can't afford it. But him *hopefully* getting SA is a step in the right direction!
Here is where is where I found the info on AOR

The latest update shows that processing of the SA is now down to 23 days. That should be reassuring news for those of us waiting.
Let's hope everything else gets sped up too!!@
