I called CIC this evening and was able to speak to a very kind customer service representative. When I enquired about my status she told me that my application is still at CIO Sydney Nova Scotia. She told me that eligibility review is almost done and the last update made on the file was yesterday. When I specifically asked her the exact status of eligibility review she told me that she won't be able to tell as the final status is yet to be updated. when I asked whether it says Recommended Pass she gave the same reply. When I asked her whether i passed criminality she said "Yes as updated on file ".I am FSW O applicant, AOR 28/03/2017. Medical passed 30/05/2017. Background status remained NA since day 1.

Can I ask what number you called? I tried ringing IRCC a couple of days ago from the UK - I tried 1-888-242-2100 (I used the international code for calling Candada 001) but get a recorded message saying that the call cannot be connected as dialled... I found the above number here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/call.asp) but it says on that page that number can be called from inside Canada only.
I called on 0016139444000 around 7:50 EST. Luckily had to wait for only 7-8 mins before call was connected to an agent. It was my 4th and the only successful attempt since past 2 weeks.

I called the number, got through to the automated update and it says press 6 to speak to an agent....is that what you did? will they expand on what is online?

Yes I guess it's 6 or 7 don't remember exactly. You only get to speak to an agent if the queue is not long enough otherwise after you press the option to speak an agent they just hang up saying the lines are very busy. Best time to call is around 7:30 am EST, Later the lines get quite busy.
