i did read abt one case being processed in 9 months in Abu-Dhabi but it's rare, for the majority it takes longer than 1 year; there's an older thread from last year u can see exactly their time-lines
I am a Canadian Born Citizen, not a PR holder... would this have any impact on processing times? As well, both me and my husband live and work in Qatar...
i'm Canadian citizen too....Canadian or PR, born Canadian or naturalized the process is the same...it's case by case scenario - what could slow the application is ur situation, ur relationship, red-flags, need or not of additional documents, need or not of an interview
AD is slow because they r new in this and also because it takes longer time for the background checks since most people who apply r residing and also r citizens of other countries
i think the office dealing with Lebanese citizens is Damascus...the Damascus thread is very active, many people give useful info...if u transfer, make sure ur husband can travel there in case of an interview or other stuff...in general people say that CIC does not transfer just like that, only in very specific situations (u loose ur residency, who knows) but for sure it's worth to try; write them a letter asking to transfer and give them reasons why, fax them the letter and then follow up closely to see if ur file was actually transfered or not
keep me updated please!! i'll be sponsoring a Syrian but initially we'll go though Abu-Dhabi route...if it will b with no end and we'll get bored waiting, maybe we'll consider a transfer as well
