Hi All,

I recently received a refusal letter with the reasons being:
- Didn't pay the "Right of Permanent Residence Fees"
- Didn't send the the medical examination

The case was technically accepted, but my wife missed the emails from CIC and unfortunately the case was rejected.

Now my question is: Can I appeal the case even after the appeal date has passed?

This is a really tough time for me and my family, any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Did you apply inland or outland? Inland applications do not have the right to appeal. If you have filed outland, then technically no you cannot appeal after the date passed.

Though, if you contact your local MP, they might be able to convince CIC to reopen the file and allow your wife to do the medical and pay the fee. This would avoid the need to appeal, and can be done reasonably quickly and for no additional cost. No guarantees, though.

Agreed with the above. How long ago were you refused? If it was very recent, I would complete the medical and pay the fee ASAP and send a reconsideration letter to the visa office. It's possible they may reopen your file.

That almost happened to me, i got a third AOR, which i thought was strange. My husband's address had an error so i had to email them back, in their response to say they fixed it, they reminded me to not forget that they requested the RPRF in their last email. I figured they sent me an Aor by error! Imagine if the address didnt have an error, i would have never known to make a payment

Hope you can appeal this
