Appeal Process

Hi All,

I applied for spousal sponsorship, but it was rejected. The reason for the rejection was quite unfortunate, my wife never checked her email when they asked for the medical examinations and permanent residence fees. Eventually they rejected the application.

I now have a chance to appeal the process and was just wondering how long does the appeal process take? Do they tell you the result immediately or do they take their time?

Any help is appreciated.

In you case good luck in trying to appeal, because with cic they can say hey your wife never bothered doing the medical request and paying the rrpf if your case is inland spousal sponsorship you cannot appeal and if it's outland spousal sponsorship you can but cic and ircc can come back and say to the appeal judge hey these people did not make an effort I am sorry to be rude and say it is your wife fault for not checking email and doing what cic and ircc request

Just reapply.
Some ppl get refused because a visa officer can declare they don't think your love and marriage is genuine. We had differences in ages and religion. So my husband and I appeal. Yeah and appeal wait in my province is 2 Years. We win, but we still wait. I pray to God for them to ask him for new medical and police.
And you say your wife don't pay attention to email? What did you think was going to happen? A visa be handed to her in person. So frustrating to hear this. When so many of us are dying to hear a request.
Sorry but to appeal is when you think CIC made an error. They didn't in this case.
How long did you and your wife wait already. This time.pay attention to emails. Or you check your wife's email and/or ecas/online progress.

Appealing is not easy.
We appealed because I wanted to answer to refusal reasons. You guys made a mistake, so don't blame CIC.
Just reapply.

Hi

There is no point in appealing, as she was correctly refused. You can inquire with your MP to see if they can have IRCC re-open the file; that has worked for others in a similar situation.

Otherwise, your best option is to just re-apply. And this time, make sure she checks her email.

Yes, I agree. Do not appeal - there is no point, because the decision was correct; in addition, an appeal takes quite a lot of time in most cases. It would be faster to just reapply.
