AOR is just first step and depending on your location and case by case bases your application, most people in mississauga, Toronto and Scarborougg who applied OCT 2017 are still waiting for IP because those offices are bussiest and most people in Montreal, Ottawa and Alberta have already taken writen test and outh.

Just this? 80% of threads on this forum are troll/ attention seeking/ stupid questions/ useless questions.
There are threads by month which is useful and understood. but then they also create month threads by region asking questions where the answer can be easily seeked by one glance at the timeline sheet. this whole forum is one big entertainer if you look at it. Exceptions are those 20% threads with some useful info.
Thread creations should be moderated and guidelines are needed to seek information first, as there is already good information but its scattered in wrong places. But who am I to say that.
How can I check if my application has been received?
If we begin to process your application, we will send you an acknowledgment of receipt letter or email with an application number.
We do not send an acknowledgement of receipt until we have opened your application and checked that it is complete. There may be a delay between the date we receive your application and the date we open it.
Your application will be returned to you if:
it is incomplete,
fees are missing, or
it is received after a program is paused, closed or a cap is reached.
We need to understand that there are varied levels of education, cultural assumptions, understanding of words and semantics etc. on these forums. In the red lettered sentence above, some folks can assume completeness to mean no other documents will be required; we know that that's not the case. However, we can all agree that AOR means your application will not be returned.
Actually it's not a bad assumption to say that AOR=80% complete. However, if you look into the Pareto principle, it takes 80% of the time to do the remaining 20% of work.
