Anyone know how long it takes to get my work permit after my sponsor is approved

M'y wife just got approved as my sponsor so we are really happy ! We applied for an open work permit at the same time of my permanent residence application . does anyone know how long it usually take to receive my open work permit?

Are you talking about an inland OWP? How many months since you applied? The inland OWP takes about 4 months, but usually SA/AIP takes longer, but maybe they are in turbo mode?

Yes we applied in December 2015 inland sponsorship .

Yes we applied in December 2015 inland sponsorship .

You should have gotten the work permit 4 months after you submitted the app, so around April 2016. It is not linked to sponsor approval. There seems to be something wrong with your work permit app, you better call to find out where your OWP is and why it wasn't processed properly.

I literally thought that if you apply with your application and are in status, they would send it together with your AIP/SA. Since you didn't tho,I'd probably say 4 months since you got it.
