Anyone in India got PCC from a Police Station for EE?

My spouse is currently in India at the moment and we can get Police certificates from Police Station, Passport office and Embassy. Embassy if for overseas applicants and passport office have long appointment wait times. Few people told us PCC from Police station isn't that credible compared to Passport office. Can someone confirm this or have any suggestion?

Get the PCC from MEA one ie from passport office. Commissioner office one is not accepted for Canadian immigration AFAIK. I might be wrong but MEA one works for sure.

When I select India here, it does say that they accept Police Certificates from "at your local district police station" but If someone has told me to go for MEA one, there should be a reason.
