Anyone ever switched from worker to visitor status?

Hi!

Has anyone ever switched their status from a worker in Canada to a visitor's visa in Canada?
Just curious as to how long the visitor visa was issued for (the length of the visitor visa)?

Any insights is very much appreciated..

Visitor status and "visitor visa" are not the same.

Yes, many people switch from worker to visitor. This is a common scenario for temporary workers who finish their term and decide to spend a few months as visitors before heading home.

Usually the visitor status extensions are given for 2 to 6 months.

I am hoping to be able to stay longer than 6 months if I have my OINP application in by that time...
