Submitted in 2014, recently received sponsorship rejection letter. that my 2011 income short $504 not eligible to sponsor my parents. 2010 and 2012 income all ok.
when they ask for option in Jan this year I also submitted 2013,14, 15 income option which shows our income way over they requested. I thought this can prove my eligibility for sponsorship.
But it seems they don't care your most recently 3 years income. U submitted in 2014 they only see your previous 3 years income which I think it's totally stupid!

last thursday i received a package from cic contains all my documents and a rejection letter telling me no eligible , and no right to appeal.
dose this mean I am done now hav to wait till 2018 for the lottery? cause in 2011 there was a $5000 cash given by my mom that I didn't do tax that year.
anything I can do now??
Please help me..I am the only child and waiting for 3 years got rejected and it's just heart broken for me..

Thank you guys..

Only way I see you getting out of this is proving you got the $5000 gift from your mom in 2011, and you forgetting to include it as income, as I believe gifts over $500 have to be declared.

Actually never mind I was wrong. Only gifts over $500 from an employer are taxable. Any gift amount from anyone else is not reported as income. Sorry so it seems like ur out of luck

Did you not know you didnt meet the income requirements prior to applying?

The $5K is a gift - not income. This money doesn't change anything. Unfortunately you were correctly refused. You'll have to wait until the 2018 lottery and hope you are selected.

It's not stupid. It was entirely your responsibility to make sure that you met LICO for each year before applying. You should not have applied when you didn't qualify.

The $5000 cash from your mother would be considered a gift, which is not taxable income.

You will have to wait for the lottery and hope you get chosen.

I still think it's stupid and unfair
The purpose of parents immigration is your Financial situation! what about some people lose their job in 13,14,15 they have no money to support their parents once when they arrived Canada, then what???

If Financial is the priority of sponsoring parents, then better have people's income checked 6 years or 10 years more in a row not just look at people's financial situation from before... but also present.

My husband was on EI for 5months.. I didn't realize EI not count in until application submitted for 2 years.
I should have waited for 2016.
Totally wasted the 3 years..really really upset.

Anyone in this situation would be refused as well. You have to meet LICO at the time you apply and also have to continue to meet LICO while the application is being processed. So if someone applied in 2014 but lost their job in 2013, 2014 or 2015 - it would end in refusal.

How?? after reviewing your 10,11,12 option c your sponsorship is approved which means if parents no serious disease their immigration will be granted. no one cares if sponsor income in 13,14,15 meets LICO plus 30% off.

Thats not true actually. Your past 3 years LICO are used to determine your initial eligibility. During processing, sponsor will be reevaluated for income again to determine if they still meet LICO. Meaning you pretty much have to meet LICO until your parents get PR.

Also, losing your job wouldnt make you automatically refused, you'd just have to find a way to earn enough income for the year by any means necessary
