ANY TIME LIMIT TO RETURN BACK TO CANADA AFTER LANDING

This question is for my friend and his family members-

1. They all have british passport.
2. They did their landing on the 1st Aug.2012 stayed 2 weeks and returned to the UK.

Question- Is there any time limit for their return to canada?

They have to reside in Canada for 2 years between 01/08/12 and 31/07/17.
