So I applied for a study permit and mentioned the work requirement of my course.
I also uploaded documents to support this in the 'Evidence of work requirement' section of the online application.
Today I picked up my passport from CHC and only study permit is stamped inside.
Also received letter of introduction, but no mention of CO-OP work permit.
Any insight from someone whose been through this before? Is CO-OP work permit issued at port of Entry?
i don't know from which country you are
but on the cic website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/work-students.asp
it is simply mentioned that This application is for students who are already in Canada and who wish to apply for a work permit in one or more of the following programs:
Off-campus work permit program;
Co-op work program;
Post-graduation work employment program
I think you can apply after study permit in canada for work permit as an co-op intern
echelon99 , is CO-OP a mandatory part of ur program ? lik in UVic , co-op is present for every program , but its optional . Some programs have co-op as mandatory!!
Anyway , you can apply for a co-op work permit from canada as well..
co-op is not mandatory for UVIC MS cs program , its optional , i will apply for the co-op work permit after 2 terms!!!

Buddy, don't worry... SP means study permit and SW category is for study and work. you will get your study and work permit at POE (airport). so u don't have to worry. Although it doesn't make much difference than of just 150CAD. Alas, you need to be happy about your visa and welcome to Canada buddy. See you here soon.
