Hi there,

I am planning of sponsoring my parents to Canada. The only main concern me now is whether IRCC will approve my application as my father is currently on peritoneal dialysis. I have read some articles or posts regarding overcoming medical inadmissibility and excessive demands. Wonder if anyone who has gone through this can provide some advices. And I would also like to know if there is anyone succeeded in this type of application? Much appreciated.

If you want to try, I would recommend you work with a very good immigration lawyer.

IRCC will move to refused the application due to excessive demand (costs of hemodialysis are around $60K per year). So you can expect a PFL and intent to refuse which you would need to try to fight.

I would recommend you spend time reading through cases involving dialysis on canlii. Here's one example:

In general dialysis and stage 4+ kidney failure are one of the top reasons why applications are denied.
