I think they need to find someone in India to fill on their behalf and make sure they can show the receipt from their mobile device before their arrival in Canada. There's not much time for you to fill in unless you are in India as well.

You provide the following information in ArriveCAN:

• contact information, such as your name, date of birth, email address, phone number and travel document details
• travel details, such as your:
  • date of arrival
  • port of entry if you're entering by land or marine vessel or
  • flight number, airport and airline if you're entering by air
• the purpose of your travel (such as exempt travel, work, study, family reunification or compassionate reasons)
• any symptoms you may be experiencing

For your quarantine plan, questions will include:

• whether you have a place to quarantine or isolate for 14 days
• the address of the place where you'll be staying during your quarantine or isolation period
• if there are people at increased risk from COVID-19at that place who:
  • are 65 years or older
  • have underlying medical conditions
  • have compromised immune systems
• if it's a group living environment or houses multiple families, such as hostels, care facilities or living with roommates you can’t avoid
• whether you'll have access to basic necessities without leaving quarantine, including water, food, medication and heat

The ArriveCAN mobile app saves your contact information (name, date of birth and travel document information) for travel at a later date.


If you're travelling for the purpose of exempt travel, you don't need to provide destination details or a quarantine plan.

If you're not the traveller, you can submit travel information on behalf of others who may be unable to use ArriveCAN by:

• downloading the ArriveCAN app or
• signing in online

You’ll need to fill out ArriveCAN with the traveller’s:

• address
• contact and travel information

You’ll then be able to print or email the receipt to the traveller.

You must send the receipt to the traveller to show to the border services officer. The traveller is responsible for ensuring they’re compliant with the requirements for entry into Canada. You don't need to be travelling with them.

How long have you been outside of Canada? Since you don’t have a job, you need to prove that you normally live in Canada (lease, mortgage, utilities, car loan etc.).

I left Canada on 27th October, 2020. All I have are pay stubs until August 2020 and mobile phone bills.

So they will allow entry if you can show that you normally live in Canada. You don’t have much to show that you have lived in Canada if you haven’t been paying for rent and utilities. All you can do is try to board and see if they allow it.
