Any particular format for LOE?

I am writting my LOE right now (will submit my application today), while doing so I am wondering is there any format or recommendation (by CIC) for LOE? Can I just write like an email in a word document or do I have to print and sign and scan? Is a signature/date necessary? plz advise. Thanks much.

No, there is no format, however, you can follow the standard North American letter format to write the letter.

No signature needed as you will be signing electronically when you will submit your application.
