Please I applied for study permit since May 20 to Los Angeles consulate... anybody hear anything from LA?, its been 61 days of waiting...read online that it takes 8 weeks, now have been waiting for almost 9 weeks..I need to start my PhD ASAP at Waterloo... any information will be appreciated from those who applied to LA for study permit
There is a thread for people applying for study permits in LA under the "Visa Offices in North America" heading. As you will see in that thread, there is no real information on where the LA consulate is regarding study permit applications. I myself applied on May 2nd with a paper based application, still waiting. There are people who have been waiting similar if not longer periods of time it looks like.
Filipovic_11,
Please can you check if your money order has been cashed yet since you submitted; I have not been able to check mine as I did not keep a photocopy my money order before i submitted my application. I want to kind of calculate how long it takes them to open one's file after they get the package
I too haven't kept a photocopy of the receipt but check out this spreadsheet where people in our situation have shared information -including info on the cashier's cheques.
please anyone who applied in April to the consulate in LA got visa yet?..., i mean for folks who applied while within in the United States. I applied May 20, 9 weeks next Monday and have not heard anything... I sent in e-mails and case enquiry so many times and even fax no response meanwhile i do not have a photocopy of my money order to know if it has been cashed. I prefer to go start my PhD again at University of Waterloo even though my I-20 to study here in the US is valid till 2016 when am expected to finish my PhD here in the US but my visa already expired. Please any information from the consulate, please share..thanks
