Okay, so CIC started processing your file July 5, 2013, correct? Does that mean your sponsor had already received approval? Stage one, sponsorship approval, should take around a month (though CIC is very inconsistent, so timelines are general). It has been a little over 9 months since they started processing your file (I'm going to assume that's after sponsor approval). The CIC website states that 80% of the applications from Cairo are processed within 19 months (after sponsorship approval), so I'd imagine you still have some time to wait. When looking at the more specific data posted on the CIC website here: http://data.gc.ca/data/en/dataset/427337d0-7c36-4fed-8428-c6a63f8c19b3, for the time period of Oct 1, 2012 to Sept 30, 2013, the data states that 50% of the Family Class PR apps were completed within 11 months, and 80% of the Family Class PR apps were completed within 18 months. That means that 20% of the apps, likely the most complicated with red flags, lack of relationship proof, etc., took longer than 18 months.
