I'm going back and forth on whether or not to import my car from the US to Canada. I've read it is a pain in the bum but it hurts to pay $8k more for a new vehicle (plus higher TTL) than in the US. Those who have imported or who are in the process, can you share your experience?
Hi. I am somewhat in the same situation. I am awaiting patiently for the Decision for our case. E-cas sais Decision made but we have nothing yet. anyway.... My common-law husband is from the US and loves his truck so he would definitely like to import it. However, like you, I have read about it and it seems to be complicated. I'm looking forward to responses from other people.

I was thinking of buying a car in the US and importing it to Canada just to take advantage of the prices. Is it a nightmare to bring a car over the border?
I was also contemplating importing my car. I love my car as I have equiped it with everything! But I am done with paperwork so now I think I will just sell it and see how it goes. I have alraedy two people asking about my car, lol so I might just give them a good price so it's gone fast.

It's really not a big pain, especially if you're organized and plan ahead. I wrote out all the steps for someone a while back and we're having a conversation over at http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/got-copr-landing-questions-and-vehicle-concerns-t136260.0.html;msg2106801#msg2106801 on the topic. Come join in so we consolidate the conversations
