Hi! I have acquired permanent resident status in Canada thru the Manitoba provincial nominee program in 2014. I am currently here in the Philippines and have been here for almost a year now. I just wanted to ask how long would I be allowed to stay outside of Canada? Would that be an issue with the Canadian immigration?

I believe the residency requirement is 2 out 3 years within Canada. So you can stay out for 3 years but must come back and live in Canada for 2 years. You should also think about getting citizenship as well due to the new regulations now.
RO is 2 years in 5. After the first 5 years it’s still 2 years in 5, but at any point in the previous 5 years you must meet RO.
