Dear All
I completed my medicals last week and today received a confirmation from the Dr that the results have been sent to Canada. I assume that if the CIC approves my medicals the next step would be a request to send the PPs for visa stamping.
I am in a dilemma here, I have heard that it might take a month or so for the PPs to reach us back. How do I inform the CIC that I am not in a position to send my PP (since I am not staying in my country of citizenship) and how do I request them to give me an option to come to the CIC office in person to get the visa stamped. Do I need to email them now or should I wait for the visa confirmation email to reach me? Please advice. Thanks for the help.
Wait for the PPR letter. All your queries would be answered in that.
-Some CHCs accept 'in person' stamping [not all].
-Most CHCs will send u the pps back in 30-45 days... u can stay w/out them for that pd in any country.
-The courier's consignee Note shall be your Authority.
My Medicals were done on 29th March 2010 and I sent the Passports + RPRF DD to New Delhi CHC on 6th April 2010.
I have also got the receipt of RPRF.
When can I expect my Passports back?
Also does sending of Medicals + PPR mean that my Background Check and Security Checks are over?

I had paid the RPRF while sending the docs to CHC(after initial approval). They sent me the receipt at that time. The medical letter told about two things 1. completion of medicals and submitting proof of it 2. Remit the RPRF is not done yet.
The 'rejection' looms large till we 'land'. But usually it can occur only if one fails the meds or the Security Clearance. The chances r there though rare after the meds. U may like to read about it here:
