after getting your pgwp, is there a time limit you have to apply for a visa for? for instance i got my pgwp last month, do i have to apply for a visa (I am in Canada) immediately or can I wait 4 months before applying for a visa (when i get in trouble applying for a visa so late)? The reason I ask this is because my passport expires before the 3 years given for pgwp, i need to renew my passport to get my full 3 years of working in Canada, do i apply for a visa now so that it allows me remain in Canada legally or can I apply for a visa after renewing my passport and getting the remaining three years of my pgwp?

Your visa (TRV, sticker in your passport) is only needed to re enter canada in case you travel, if you have a valid PGWP you can remain in canada with an expired TRV legally.
There is also no time limit to renew TRV it is up to you and your plans.
