No, there's no need to update anything. They only care about the relevant 5 year period preceding the day when you signed the application.
Obviously, if they ask if you have travelled after you submitted your application, simply be honest and tell them about it, it is no big deal
I just had my test on Jan 16th after being outside of Canada for a month, got DM the next day
Don’t worry,, I was away for 4 months,, after the test there’s an interview for 10-15 minutes,, officer might ask you if you went outside Canada after you applied,, in my case I just went to visit my family back home,, so nothing to worry about,, make sure you get all the original documents which you used for your citizenship application,, test is really easy,, all the very best
After the test you will have your interview where all docs are checked. Tell the officer you had been for a month outside Canada and if possible carry your airline itinerary.
Like others already mentioned, the time spent outside Canada after the eligibility period (i.e. the time period included in the application) does not need to be updated with CIC. I also travelled after submitting the application like you did and everything was fine.
