Hello everyone,

I am looking for advice regarding my parents' visa application.

In March last year, my parents and younger brother applied for visitor visas, but their applications were rejected due to a lack of strong ties to their home country. We are now considering applying for a Super Visa for my parents.

My father has chronic kidney disease, but his condition is stable, and he does not require dialysis. Since a medical exam is required for the Super Visa, we are concerned that IRCC might reject his application due to his health condition. We will purchase the mandatory medical insurance and will cover all medical expenses if needed.

Does anyone have experience with similar cases?
• Could my father's medical condition lead to a rejection?
• Given these circumstances, would it be better to apply for a visitor visa or proceed with the Super Visa?

Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

If there's not much changes since the previous application, then I suggest you proceed with the super visa.

But given your dad's medical condition, wouldn't it be better off not travel abroad at all?

What stage of kidney disease? Is there a cause for the kidney disease? Genetic? Diabetes?

My father is healthy, as I mentioned—he has never needed dialysis. He just retired five months ago and is 60 years old. My only concern is that if the Super Visa gets rejected, I won’t have any other options left since his visitor visa was already denied last year.

He has had stable chronic kidney disease for the past 12 years and manages it with medication (tablets) without any need for dialysis. His condition is well-controlled, and he has no other major health issues.

But you said your dad has chronic kidney disease. Since he's retired, he should go for super visa because he probably has even less income than when he was employed. However, he should intend to stay, each time, in Canada at most 3 months (because he can only bring a 90 days supply of prescription medication).

His stage of kidney disease and cause has a huge impact on whether he can pass a medical.
