Hi good afternoon guys..just need some advice. I'm getting married on April this year and I'm just recently got my OWP in LIC program. Which is the best and easy way, I will change my last name with my husband last name after the wedding and inform CIC or I wait for my PR approval and change my last name with my husband last name? Hope someone can give advice. Thanks.
Always better to inform CIC as soon as a change in status occurs. In your case, it will most likely work in your favour since telling CIC you're married and have a new last name could mean granting your husband permanent residence status as well. If you wait until after you get your PR to inform CIC, then you would have to be prepared for the long wait that would likely follow his PR application (if he is outside Canada and intends to join you).
Thanks for the reply...yes I will inform cic after we get married and change the status. My fiancé is Canadian citizen so I don't add him on my application...
