Advice please

Hello,

i posted asking a question regarding my uncle a few months ago. Since then ive been doing some research and would like some advice.
Ive done assesments for express entries and work visas and he is not eligible unfortunately. Family sponsorship is out of the question but ive found some options.
Ive heard people can come on a TRV and claim refugee status upon arrival, although getting a TRV is difficult.
Another option would be he claims refugee status at a UNCHR location, but my question would be if I would be able to sponsor him as a refugee, or find i believe it is called group of 5 sponsorship.
I was also wondering if an immigration lawyer would be able to help in any of the above situations. Again any advice would be helpful,

An immigration lawyer can certainly be helpful if you don't want to do the research yourself. However the same options will be available regardless of whether you go through a lawyer or not.

Yes, group of 5 sponsorship is possible if your uncle is outside of his home country and can be recognized as a refugee by UNHCR in the country where he is living. Note that group of 5 sponsorship takes around 3 years to complete (your uncle will need to remain outside of Canada until the application si approved). You will need to find four other Canadians who are willing to co-sign the application and willing to commit to financially supporting your uncle.

Yes, he can claim refugee status upon arrival if he can get a TRV approved. Yes, it can be difficult to get a TRV approved depending on an individual's profile (you need to demonstrate strong ties to your home country). Note that the refugee process takes several years to complete and your uncle should make sure he has a strong case and evidence to prove persecution in his home country if he goes down this path.

Can the group of 5 be my own family members? Such as my siblings (all over 18) and my parents?

Also if he were to come on a TRV and claim asylum would it require court cases and such?

I don't know if the group of five can all be your own family members.

If he comes on a TRV and claims asylum, then he will need to appear at a hearing to present his case. He will need evidence / proof to support his case to have a good chance of approval. He can't simply be coming to Canada for a better economic future or to be with his family. He has to prove persecution.
