I wish to apply for the Canadian Study permit. The university's agent is telling me to pay the entire first year fees in advance before applying for the student visa. Says its mandatory and could lead to visa rejection. I would be applying a loan and my installments will start well in advance if I were to pay now itself..
Experts please advice. Also how much money do I need to show in my bank account for a 16 month course?

1. No it isn't madatory, you don't have to pay the first year's tuition in advance. Most schools request a deposit. IRCC wants to see that you have been accepted in a DLI school and that you have sufficient funds to pay the 1st year tuition, funds for living expenses, and travel.
