admission info about carleton univ., uni. of ottawa , univ. of manitoba

i already applied to carleton university for Meng course work Civil program , as it is a joint program with univ. of ottawa
do i need to apply into univ. of ottawa too ? or the carleton univ. forward my application in case they dont accept mine to the univ. of ottawa

and for the same course work program , do i need a supervisor for univ. of manitoba ??
