I have a question regarding PR application for my wife. I have landed in December 2019 and my wife came on visitor visa along with me. As i secured a job here, i would like to sponsor her PR application. Now question is how to get her address proof? She doesn't drive so no driving license and she is in Canada along with me. Please provide your suggestions
To echo @k.h.p. , it all kind of depends. The provincial stuff alone might not be enough, so try to get the PA's name on anything and everything. That includes a bank account. Ask around and see if any banks don't need, or are willing to work around, a SIN. Best bet (and a good idea anyway) is to open a joint account.
Also look into the Ontario Photo ID card. It's basically an ID card for people who don't have a driver's license. It will include an address.
You can add your wife to your credit card and my wife was able to open a bank account without a SIN number, so it probably depends on the bank. I'm with a local credit union and my wife was able to open an account solely in her name along with a joint account for both of us.
A cell phone bill is also a good option.
Your best bet is to include as many of these as you can. It also makes things easier if you're living together. If so, you can include your own bills and IDs as supporting documents, which will show the same address.
We are living together since our marriage 2008. I will try Photo ID form service ontario, Bank joint account and credit card for her and will try other options if possible. But what proof i have to provide to prove she is living with me.
You should be able to open an account with RBC, my wife did 2 years ago while we were in Canada for a visit. One of the few banks that will open one for a person who is not a PR or citizen. I checked many of them at the time.
