Again, the instructions are not clear: They say regarding Additional family information
This form must be completed by:
•You, as the principal applicant,
•Your spouse or common-law partner (whether accompanying you to Canada or not), and
•Your dependent children aged 18 or over (whether accompanying you to Canada or not).
Reading this it would meand that I (the sponsor) have to submit this too? If so, then why is it not listed among the forms for the sponsor?
THanks steaky, I was thinking that too, since I am Canadian, but why do they have to write, that the spouse has to fill that out as well, if these forms are for spousal sponsorship?
The way the application packet is designed, the assumption is that an applicant and sponsor would not be physically together when the application is being completed. The Immigration forms in Part 2 (along with the Regional forms and document checklist in Part 3) would be completed by an applicant overseas. The Sponsorship forms in Part 1 would be completed by the sponsor in Canada. The applicant would then send all their completed forms and the identity proofs, etc, listed in their document checklist back to their sponsor in Canada. The Canadian sponsor then joins their completed application forms and identity documents, etc., with the applicant's according to the Sponsor's document checklist and mails the entire package to the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga.
So, keeping the forms organized according to how CIC has set up the process will make filling them out and gathering all of your supporting documentation a lot easier.
