Dear Members,
I am an accountant holding bachelor degree with 5 yeas UAE experience with no other qualifications.
as I know that this occupation is regulated so my question is ,cant I work as accountant without having cga-cma-ca designation???
second thing how is the job market for accountants in ontario and alberta and which is better?
You can certainly qualify for accounting jobs holding an accountant bachelor degree. However employers give preference to applicants who also have CGA/CA/CMA designations. If you want to remain in the accounting field, you should begin working towards one of these designations once you arrive in Canada.

Continuing from above, what if someone has CGA designation through mutual recognition program. What are chances for him to get entry level job in audit firms at junior level. Which area in ur observation is good for starting jobs in Financial Audit? Kindly guide us if u already have an experience in this ?

thank you so much for your response , i have already contacted CGA and got the evaluation report for the exempted courses granted and actually it will take 3 years to finish one of the designations mentioned above if I am full time working.
thanks

Hi Scylla,
I am an Indian CA with more than 6 years of Post Qualification Experience in the field of Accounts, Audit & Tax Compliance. Is there any way, I can start CICA/CGA from India, before landing in Canada?
