Accompanying spouse query

Hi Guys, Can we mention spouse as Not Accompanying in EE profile even though she is in Canada? For eg when I dont want to include her in my PR application. I plan to sponsor her after I get my own PR.

I was in the same boat.. But after lot of researching in this forum and talking to few people who are there in Canada.. decided that its better to get her along while applying rather sponsoring later.. saves lot of trouble..

Not necessarily. You have to check on your own.

Making the profile as a single while you are married and not including your wife in the application means that you are trying to hide the facts and increase your score 9/10 times

CIC may give an exception to you based on your explanation etc but it will delay your process

Hello. That is not what I have asked. Even a fool would know that one can not do that. I am asking about whether I can mention - spouse not accompanying for the purpose of PR application only. She is already here in Canada, and I have written married in my application. For eg why would government FORCE your spouse to have PR with you? It should be her choice whether she wants to be included in your PR app or not? right?

CIC cannot force anyone to be included in the PR application but you need to supply a logical reason to CIC for not including your spouse.

She is on an open WP. Can you provide any reference regarding CIC asking for a logical reason for not including spouse?

VO may ask you why your wife is not willing to get a Canadian PR even though she is working on an Open WP and her spouse is applying for a PR.. my cents.. could be YMMV for you !!

Reason - increase in CRS points from 440s to 477 if only husband applying as married but spouse not coming.

We were thinking the same here. I want PR but my bof is now having second thoughts. If I get PR he may consider it an option in the future and get sponsored then.

I believe sponsoring your spouse on a PR will take sometime and you must also prove your ability to sponsor someone else by work, funds, etc.
