Accompanying child landing

Hi everyone!
My family (me, my spouse and an accompanying child) got our COPR, and we have to land in Canada soon.
Our child was born in the states and he has a US citizenship. Right now we are living and working in a different country in Asia, probably until the end of the year.
We are thinking of landing in Canada without our child, as we can save on the airfare and other expenses, and going back after a few days. This will save us approximately $1500. Since our son is a US citizen, he can enter with us later as a visitor, and we can get him the PR then. Do you think this is wise, or should we just do the landing with him?

He needs to land before his COPR expires. If he doesn't, then you will need to sponsor him later.

Thanks! But my question was, is it better to sponsor him later, when he enters the country as a visitor with us (with his US passport), rather than spending money for airfare now for a quick landing and going back? How much would it cost to sponsor him (he is 6 yrs old, I read the fee is $75 on the cic website)?

I believe it's 550$, the 75$ sponsor fee, plus the principal applicant fee.

Just look at the longer picture and all land together to avoid any delays later. The airfare cost is just a small part of the PR process cost at end of day and at least you will know you are done with the process.
