Were you ever jailed for the offence in question?
An absolute discharge is not a conviction, so being jailed is the only part of question 7 that you might have to answer "yes" to.
No jail just an absolute discharge.

Then I think you should be fine, but it's always up to the processing agent. An absolute discharge will show up when they run a police check on you, so they will know no matter what.
An absolute discharge will stay on an offender’s criminal record for one year after the date they received the discharge. The offender doesn’t have to apply for a pardon for the discharge to be removed from their record.
Thanks guys. So that means it won't affect my citizenship, I understand its not a conviction and I don't have a criminal record, Absolute Discharge stays on police record for a year and then its purged.
I am sending my application for citizenship next monday.

Hi.. whts the result? did you send canada police clearance also for your citizenship application?
Hi,
I received a letter today from CIC 25 St Clair Avenue East office requesting for fingerprints. I will get the fingerprints done tomorrow and I am concerned if having an absolute discharge will effect my citizenship? If anyone has any experience please let me know thanks.
SO what happened with you? was your application processed ?

What crime did you commit, bcoz I heard as per Bill C-43 even a minor conviction gets you deported and it can be really minor, though they word it as "Serious".
