About Soft Landing

Hi there,

I got my COPR a few weeks ago. My destination is Manitoba, Winnipeg. I am planning to soft land with my family in July for two weeks to look for schools for my kids as well as to find a location that is convenient to live (prefer close to supermarket and mall). As this time is just soft landing, I do not have a Winnipeg address to mail our PR cards, can I ask the officer to mail the PR cards to my friend"s home address which is in Toronto? I plan to real landing with my family next year summer time preferably.

I am planning to do a soft landing on a weekend at Toronto airport and travel back on Sunday. I cannot apply for SIN as Service Canada offices will be closed. Can I apply for SIN when I decide to relocate permanently say in 12-18 months? I will be giving my friends address to receive PR card.

Yes. Just want to confirm that your whole family is landing. Public school choice is usually based on where your house/apartment is located.
