Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
9 TRAVEL DOCUMENTS AND PASSPORTS Photocopy of passport/s or travel document/s of yourself (principal applicant) and your accompanying family members must be submitted. The expiry date of the passport must be valid for at least 18 months from the date you submit your application. This would refer to: •a photocopy of the passport biopage (page showing the name, photo, passport number, date of issue and expiration, date and place of birth), and •any page containing amendments of yourself and all accompanying family members.

We will be resubmitting a new application since our application got lost but found out that my husband's passport will be expiring on september this year. Would it be possible to just write a letter stating that he just renewed his passport and we will just send the new passport details to them whenever we receive it?

thanks

As much as you would like to hurry up the process, I think its best to wait till he gets the new one to submit.
How long will it take? surely not more than a month?

Unless you have some sort of documentary evidence he applied for a new one and you want to stick that in like a receipt or something? That might be more proof than a letter.

I think sending a letter would be just fine. He has a current passport, and you will renew it. I agree, though to send off the application for the renewal before you send the PR application-send a dated receipt for the renewal fee along with your letter, and send the photocopy of the new passport ASAP.

is your husband the applicant or the sponsor? If he is the applicant - don't worry about it, they don't look at that part of the application while the sponsorship is being approved. You can send it along to the visa office when the visa office receives your file (you'll get stickers to add to anything you send in to the visa office while your app is in process).

if he is the sponsor, with a canadian passport, then I've known CIC officials to be very lenient about expired passports (I've travelled on an expired canadian passport into Canada and been told by the agent at the airport to ALWAYS show a canadian passport, whether it is expired or not, over any other travel document when dealing with Canadian immigration).

Thank you Honeybird and minna :)

My husband is the applicant so I think we will just send a letter then :) thankyou! :-*

If you haven't yet applied for husband's new passport, attach to the letter a photocopy of the current passport. Then attach it to the ciopy of the nerw passport when your get it. That will make things easier for CIC.
