Hello people, quick question, does the necessary funds to immigrate need to be in a Canadian Bank or can I use my bank account statements from my country?

This is for a friend. I am already in Canada and I had the funds transferred to my account in Canada when I came, but from a family member in a different country. My friend lives in Cuba and she can't transfer money from there to Canada
