I am thinking about taking an HCA program in BC and this program requires me to do a practicum.
Currently, I am a graduate student and I am going to graduate next year.
So I am not qualified for a coop work permit for another college at the moment.
However, few of the schools say they don't require a coop work permit to complete this program because it is not a coop work program.
Based on IRCC, if there is a practicum in my program, I should have a coop work permit.
Most of the schools I reached out to told me that I need a coop work permit for a practicum.
I also heard that a few schools in BC do not require a coop work permit for ECE students.
It makes me so confused.
I do want to make sure it is okay to do a practicum without a coop work permit.

Any school saying otherwise is either unaware you are an international student or you are not asking the right person. Sometimes the academic advisors can be out of touch too.
