Hi,
I have applied for a work permit extension in Feb through paper application which takes 107 days as written on their website.
My current work permit will expire on 5 May. I wouldn't get my work permit extension before 5 may.
What would be my status? Can I still work after 5 may? Would they send me back?
It depends on what kind of work permit you hold now.
I am not sure what Work Permit you are currently holding but if you have a INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE CANADA Open Work Permit this cannot be extended. You will have to change your status to a visitor before your current status expires but you will not be able to work during this time and you wont be able to remain in Canada on a permanent basis. If that is the work permit you are on.
