A permanent resident inviting parents on tourist visa- proof of funds

Hi;
I am permanent resident. I would like my mom and dad to visit Canada this summer on tourist visa. Do I have to show proof of fund since I am permanent resident?
In the website it says temporary resident should show proof of funds.

They (temporary residents applicants) have to show proof of funds from themselves cause they are visiting but there’s also the option for you to “sponsor” their travel then they are gonna ask you to show proof of funds!

he needs to show his finances and that he can support his travels.
