Hello. I am going to migrate to canada soon, and i am confuse about some matters. I have Graduated from Oxford brookes University UK BA Honors in Accounting and finance and MBA from Malaysia. I am 22 years old female with Pakistani nationality. I am interesting in pursuing my career and studies in Marketing. Please advise me should i get enrol in canadian university or college to get a diploma or certificate in particular field which can help me in getting job in canada. SHould i look for CO -op programs in which i can get workshop experience as well. Getting a diploma or cert from canadian uni can also help me in applying for PR. (this is my opinion) But i am in doubt that whether this profession is in demand in canada or no?
Please advise me on what should i do to get a good job and secure my place as PR. thankyou
Well as per my research , canadian job market doesnt evaluate u good enough with qualifications and experince unless you have a canadian job market experince.which means geting a co-op program is better.also having a credential assessment might be helpful.
accounting and insurance fields are particularly in demand, but as our colleague said foreign credentials are not sufficient to get a job.
Finding a co-op college programme will gain you few months' experience and you will have the chance to stay on the job permanently, but some programs restrict co-op placements to permanent residents/citizens so this must be checked.
Also, try to find a college programme that is accredited by industry, for example a college diploma in international trade will lead you to industry certificate as certified international trade professional. You will see that jobs here demand industry certificates more than diplomas or degrees. There are also programs leading to logistics or insurance certificates etc.
