My mother has arrived here in Canada last month and I noticed her passport has no stamp. So, I checked the CIC website and I found this " If you don’t get a stamp in your passport, you can stay for 6 months from the day you entered Canada or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. If you need a stamp, you can ask a border services officer for one. If you arrive at an airport that uses primary inspection kiosks, ask the border officer after you finish at the kiosk." What does this mean? Do I need to extend her stay before six months? Is anyone enlighten me on this. Thank you in advance

Assuming her passport doesn't expire within 6 months from the date of entry, it means she can stay 6 months. If she wants to stay longer than that, she must apply to extend her stay prior to the 6 month expiry.
