5 months and no response yet for my study permit. ?

Hey everyone,,

I am from Yemen.I have been admitted to Ph.D. program in Canada with full research assistant scholarship by the University. I have applied for study permit 5 months ago, however, I have no response yet. I have sent a couple of inquiries to the embassy, and finally received a reply saying that they are waiting for background checks and screening results.

Has anyone waited for his study permit more than 5 months??! could you share your experience!

I am really worried that I will lose my scholarship because of this delay.

Application from Yemen takes 6weeks according to CIC website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/index.asp

Im also waiting for response from CIC too... Goodluck

well, I contacted them and I got reply that they are still doing background and security check. Having no response is really paralyzing me .

It seems that it's unusual delay.. Anyway, I don't have other than waiting. best of luck for you too.
