Hello

I need help on understanding visa requirements for our baby girl who is right now 5 months old born in canada.

We both ( Parents ) are currently holding Indian passport and PR of canada. Mine citizenship application in In process.

My wife and baby planning to travel india for 4 /5 months.

What are visa requirements for my child ? I saw some options on BLS website.

(1) OCI : It will take 2 months to get OCI and not sure if we need to submit her Original canadian passport ?

(2) e-Visa : Quick and easy but it only allow 30 days as per BLS website but indian govt. site says 60 days

(3) Reg. Visitor visa :

Does anyone came across about this situation and what should be idea option to get her visa.

We can not wait for 2 months for OCI.

Please advise

Thanks

For now travel with e-Visa and apply for OCI from India as you are there for 4/5 months.

I suggest this -
go for eVisa now. travel to India. come back to Canada.

you have a 5 yrs passport for your child. apply for OCI 6 months before you travel to India next. if you are not travelling to India in next 4 years, then you can OCI directly on her new passport. If you think you are going to travel to India frequently, then better get OCI done in India or after returning to Canada.

Thanks for reply. e-Visa is easy to apply but it allow max 30 days to stay and my child will be there for 4/5 months .

yes, i actually checked after i posted that. it allows 60 days which is still not good. point # 8 - https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html

for my child, i was in same situation as we travelled after he was 5 months. we had applied 6 month tourist visa through BLS. it took 1 week i think, dont exactly remember but it was in that range.

In my case I applied for regular visitor's visa and got it in less than a week
This allowed my baby boy to stay in India for almost 6 months.
