I am planning to study 30 credit hours course in Master's (M Eng) in Canada.
If I do this course, will I be qualified for CEC category after 1 year of work experience?
In fact I do not know whether 30 credit hour is equivalent to two years of study or not.
As per CIC definition: (Two years of study – At least 16 months—or four semesters—within the 24 months before completing a full-time post-secondary program of study in Canada)
As per university program:
30 credit hours (18+ 12 elective)
should be able to complete within 4 years
6 sessions
Students are expected to fulfill all requirements within two years.
Full-time students can normally complete all program requirements within twelve months. The maximum time permitted, whether full or
part-time, is four years from the date of initial registration in the program.
If it is one year program then will I be qualified for CEC category after one year of work experience in Canada (graduate students having 1 year work experience)?
No, unfortunately my profession is not listed in 38.
by the way what is FSW category 2?
I heard that CEC is the fasted approach to get PR so I want to qualify in this category.
Will I not be qualified as per this statement?
a foreign graduate from a Canadian post-secondary institution with at least one year of full-time (or equivalent) skilled work experience in Canada
It means you have to either stay for 3 years (Education 2 yrs and Work exp 1 yr) or 2 years of Work (as arranged employment) in Canada to qualify for CEC category.
To qualify in FSW category 2, you do not have to be listed in 38 occupation but you need to be at Canada either as temp worker or foreign student for 1 year and need to have 67+ points, right!!
