Hi, I applied for a TRV about a year ago to visit my boyfriend, who is a Canadian citizen. I applied under visiting friends/family, but it got rejected for these reasons:

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary
resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your travel history.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary
resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary
resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and
financial status.

In my first application, I included:
• A cover letter
• Letter of invitation
• Tentative Itinerary
• Employer letter
• Bank statements & fixed deposits

I realise now that when I applied, my application must've looked bad because I am in my early-20s, I just started my job and the funds in my bank account (including my fixed deposit) was only around CAD$4,000.

My boyfriend's mother recently got diagnosed with advanced-stage cancer and he needs me there in person very much. I would also really love to have the chance to meet her... so I wanted to try again. I am very demotivated from my first refusal though, so it would be really great if you guys had any advice for me to send in a better application.

My travel history: I've been to Australia twice, China, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia. I'm Malaysian.
Purpose of visit: If I applied for tourism purposes now, would it be suspicious? Would it be better to just apply as visiting again?
Personal assets & financial status: I have more money in my bank account now than I did before. I've been at my job for more than a year now and have been promoted to senior, and a few salary increments (not sure if that helps).

I am afraid that I do not have strong ties to Malaysia. All of my family members are here, which is the only tie I have. I do not own a house here, but I do have a car. And that's pretty much it. The only things tying me to Malaysia is my job and my family (which is plenty to me, but I don't think that's enough).

Thank you guys so much for reading and any help would be appreciated.
