Hi Guys
During mock (listening) tests, I always land somewhere between 27 and 34 correct answers.
Kindly provide some tips, if any, to score more (Aiming at 8 Band for listening).
Many thanks in advance.
Pre read the questions quickly and try and guess the answers BEFORE the tape gets to that part. So when the recording reaches each question you have a fair idea of what to expect.
This only comes with a lot of practice and was the difference in me scoring 30 odd correctly to consistently getting 38-39 correctly. All the best!

Thank you very much Cyronn, for your valuable tip. It seems to be working out and once or twice I was able to cross 36, by reading the questions before hand.
Will practice more to reach the ultimate.

Another tip - write your answers in CAPS. Thay way you dont loose marks for nouns in small letters etc.

Thank you Topsy! Will keep in mind definitely.

If you don't understand where to put any keyword which you think could be the answer then write all the important keywords you hear on the write margin
at the end of the test you would have plenty of keywords to fill the gaps.

Another valuable tip. Thank you Nic. Worth knowing.

Another Tip
First section is usually easy, so while the man/lady gives you instructions (for approx. 40sec), then you can SECTION-2 OR SECTION-3 which one you feel is tough.
It will give an idea about the future Sections.
Worked for me

Really very kind of you Nic. Help sincerely appreciated.
Getting a hang of Listening but Writing task 2 seems to be more demanding. Any ideas?

Don't worry, it's even simpler with little effort
