I have 2 questions regarding passports. I am from Iran and my wife who is Canadian citizen is sponsoring me. Marriage certificate is obviously included in our package we are sending. Our marriage is not registered in Iran as we have not traveled there yet.
Now, under the country specific requirements for Iran, it reads:
"If you hold a passport from this country, you and your family members included in the application must provide: Photocopies of the first 10 pages of passports (including the page showing passport validity). If possible, passports should be valid for at least three years after application date.
Note: If a birth, marriage or divorce occurred in another country and is not registered in the national booklet (Shenas Nameh), the principal applicant and/or
the sponsor must provide a copy of the certificate issued abroad along with a sworn affidavit explaining those discrepancies."
1. What would the affidavit with discrepancies look like?
2. I have sent my passport to be renewed and I'll receive it in a few weeks. Can I send photocopies of my current passport and then when I receive my new passport, send photocopies of that to update my package?

Is your marriage registered in Canada? What I get from that, is, you need an affidavit explaining why your marriage isn't registered in the national booklet. Seems kind of simple in this case since you haven't been back there. An affidavit is just a written statement certified by a notary.
2. Yes, just explain you are about to have your passport renewed.
Yes, we got married here in Canada. We haven't gotten the chance to travel and register in Iran. It can be done by sending a few forms to embassy though but it takes months to process. Would officer say why didn't you do that and after getting it done, then apply for PR?

Hi
What did you end up doing for the affidavit regarding marriage in the national booklet?
Thank you
