Hi,
I wanted to check if anyone else had similar issues during their 1st landing as PR (express entry).
I stay in USA and plan to immigrate to Canada soon. Few months back I did my first landing as PR at Vancouver airport with plans to stay there for few days and come back to usa and start searching jobs in BC.
1) Wasn't issued PR Card:
Immigration officer explicitly asked us how long we have plans to stay there and where are we planning to stay. I clarified my plan and said I will be staying in hotel for few days and then go back to states. Intend to start looking up jobs from states and move for good in few months.
So he said I cannot issue your PR Card now (since you have to personally take it) and takes upto 3months to arrive.
- Anyone had similar exp where officer specifically asked how long you intend to stay and further plans?
Now I have to get PRTD (a temp visa) on my passport while in states and then travel on it again. Apply for PR Card once inside Canada.
2) Personal Effects document BSF 186 / BSF 186 A wasn't signed by officer:
For similar reason that I am not yet moving for good to Canada, officer refused to sign my personal effects list and said I can get it signed next time I move permanently. Another PR who was there for 1st landing along with us, also had same exp. But his PR card was issued.
- Does anyone know if I will now have issues getting BSF186 signed on my 2nd entry?
- Who will have to sign it on my 2nd entry....immigration officer or customs officer?
- Does it now matter if I make my 2nd entry via land or airport? (I have valid CoPR)
- I have heard one exp where immigration officer refused to sign on 2nd entry saying BSF186 can only be signed on 1st entry. And custom officer saying now they have to pay customs since form is not signed.
- I plan to make my 2nd entry at Vancouver. Any tips with this regards will be very helpful.
Any help, highly appreciated.
Thanks
