Hello friends, I am confused about this one thing. I have 40 hours per week job. I got employed on July 27th, 2015. So do I have to reach July 27th 2016 for myself to be eligible for CEC or do I need 1560 hours? Because by 40 hours a week, I will have 1560 hours two months short of one full year. Which one is counted in case of 40 hours per week? Because as we know, they define 'full-time' by 30 hours a week. Thanks.

you will need 1 calendar year AND 1560 hrs work

if you have 10 months and 1560 hrs, you are still not eligible until you reach 365 days mark.

You must meet both criteria. This means you can't count anything above 30 hours per week. You must wait until you have 12 months of experience.

Thank you very much for your answers. I am in a pickle here. I am on implied status to complete a year in work experience because I missed PNP due to a lawyer saying my program of study was not eligible under international stream (I know, my mistake too as I should have gone further in depth to research this matter). But it is eligible as it turns out. Now I am on implied status, with no LMIA or PNP, just hoping to make it to July. I am terrified and sad because I have done well here. I got a job in under two months of work permit application, got an 8 out of 9 bands in IELTS and have 420 points without any work experience already in the system. I don't know what to do now.

You mentioned you are on implied status. Do you mean that your work visa expired and you applied for an extension, which is still being processed?

Yes. It expired on April 19th. I applied a week before as I had no other option and it was quite late to do any other application. I have been stressed ever since. Plus now, they closed the PNP streams for Ontario for students as well.

I dont think that there is much else you can do but wait for the decision on the extension.

Hopefully, it will be granted and you can finish your 1 year of experience in Canada.

That should give your score a good boost and improve your chances to receive ITA in the future.

Have you already calculated what your CRS score will be once you finish 1 year in Canada?
