I have 3+ years of experience in IT with job designations
of Software Engineer.
Though I have performed tasks like Project Planning (was project leader), Client Coordination, Estimation of Man-hours for new project, Configuration Management
I have managed a software dev team also.
Will my designation "Software Engineer" create a problem (Since Manager is reqd)

Wat is the solution for this? Will a letter from my employer/immediate boss
stating some of the tasks I performed be enough to convince the Canadian Authorities? Please advise.
In your case , you willhave to provide a reference letter from employer else it will be very tough to convince that you are performing managerial duties with a beginners position.

In case my employer (i.e. TCS) refuses to give me letter
detailing job descriptions citing "Company Policy" will
a letter from my immediate boss suffice (not on company letterhead)??
This is crucial since if I am not eligible then I will not apply, however
if possible then I am sure I can get this letter from my supervisor.
Also will the Canadian authorities follow up with my immediate boss?

Try to prove your managerial experience with as much documents as possible like tax returns, paystubs, promotion letters etc if you dont have an employer reference letter.
Its getting complex for 0213. My cousin (Argentina passport holder) just got rejected for FSW under the new rules. He applied under 0213 and even has a Master's degree in Computer Science from Bond University in Australia and over 7 years experience. Luckily for him, his Australian PR got approved and so he is settled in Australia for good. CIC informed him that his work experience documents werent convincing enough to qualify him as a Computer Manager. I dont know what CIC looks for and it seems to vary greatly.

There is one applicant from India who got RPRF,Medicals and passport request at once. Also on trackitt, I saw several of indian even finalized their cases under new system. Hope things will move fine. Did you apply just one NOC-0213 or have/had claimed experience in other NOCs too?
i've claimed 2171 also for no. of years. but from the ministerial list, it's only 0213... my formal designation does not say Manager; and i dont have work-ex letters.. so, a lot depends on the mood of the immigration officer in my case ...
what about you? do you have a back-up NOC code? it seems to be getting tough on 0213, maybe because of the US slowdown.
I have claimed 2281,0611,2282 included 0213. I am October'08 applicant, my application was accepted under 0213 experience at local visa office, done with full application on June'10.
Hi Aanbaan - My cousin got rejected by CHC Sydney in Australia. At least his Rejection Letter came from CHC Sydney even though the decision may have been made elsewhere. He was in Australia first on a student visa to do his Master's from Bond University and then after graduation he was working in Sydney for a banking company. He had applied to both Canada and Australia for immigration at the same time last year and was rejected by CIC 2 weeks ago but luckily got approved by Australia for PR too almost at the same time. So things worked out.
His official designation is Australia was Senior Systems Engineer and before doing his Master's in Australia, he had a few years experience in Argentina along with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science.
with about 3 yrs of experience you claim to be a manager! are you responsible & accountable for the managerial duties that you claim to perform? Basically do you perform any managerial duty? Doing an estimation which you are not responsible for, and distributing work between 3-4 ppl is not the only role of a manager.
at middle management level you at least need to be a decision maker of day to day activities, including financial & budgeting & responsibility to supervise and/or authority to hire & fire! I dont think with 3 yrs experience a company like TCS will burden you with so much accountibility;

I was doing all that you mentioned in TCS after 1 year of experience... you just have to be a top-performer and friendly with your boss'e boss, then the sky is the limit
though, i did not claim 0213 for that period because it would have looked stupid
